Over the past 8 years, Compass Medical has celebrated and recognized the individual, team, or provider that has had a profound impact on Compass Medical, evidenced by their dedication to optimizing the patient experience, hard work, and inspired ideas. Recipients of this award prove their ability to reinforce our core values by demonstrating excellence in four critical areas or points of excellence; Compassionate Care, Innovation, Leadership, and Exceptional Experience. The Navigator Award recognizes those that go above and beyond to exemplify our set of core values, which are the foundation for the care we deliver. In celebration and recognition of our exceptional staff and providers, we are pleased to announce the 2021 Navigator & Service Award Recipients!

2021 COMPASS MEDICAL NAVIGATOR & SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENTS!
Congratulations to all of our 2021 recipients!
Recipients demonstrated excellence in “Compassionate Care” delivery to our patients or fellow employees. Recipients of this award are nominated by their colleagues, employees and providers of Compass Medical. This year, we received over 90 nominations in this category!
We would like to share highlights from a part (s) of several nominations for this team. We could not be more proud of our winners, Congratulations to all working in the Centralized (Connected) Care Management team!!
“The Centralized Care Management Department has brought many new programs to life, expanding on CCM and VNA Care plan oversight services and introducing TCM, RPM, and ED Visit Follow Up services since Covid hit. These services help patients control their medical conditions, allow for expedited care, assist providers to manage their large patient panels all while creating an exceptional patient experience. The team has worked really hard to make all of these programs a success by working and growing together under a wonderful MANAGER AND supervisor. The response from our patients has been outstanding! Their work makes a difference and anything we can do to make our patient care easier and better is a win.”

Unfortunately, our other Compassionate Care recipient is on leave and will be back soon! Once they are back we will announce the second recipient of our Compassionate Care award!
This award recognizes our employees, Providers, or Teams whose outstanding performance results in an “Innovative” product or process that benefits our patients and practice. Recipients of this award are nominated by their colleagues, employees, and providers of Compass Medical.
We would like to share highlights from portions of several nominations for Bing. We could not be more proud, congratulations Bing!!
“Bing’s contributions are often quiet and unsung, but you can feel his innovation and care in all the little touches that make our EMR and system applications run so well. Whenever you ask for his help he is always right there and willing to go the extra mile to solve an IT or software problem. We appreciate Bing’s problem-solving, solution development, and dedication to using technology to better our patients and our practices.”

“It is with great pleasure that I nominate Quincy Primary Care and Endocrinology. Over the past year, this Compass site has grown by an extraordinary proportion with multiple new providers joining an already outstanding team of physicians, it incorporated and paved the way for an Endocrinology department within Compass, and all of this under the strong leadership of a new (to Compass) manager. Despite the learning curve of integrating a specialty department and extra efforts of running a busier primary care practice, the STAFF really came together and consistently found ways to help each other, the providers, and showed their commitment to Compass. I believe these accomplishments and characteristics.”
This award recognizes our employees, Providers, or Teams that demonstrate behavior representative of our corporate values and someone who embodies the true principles of “Leadership”. Recipients of this award are nominated by their colleagues, employees, and providers of Compass Medical.
“Dianne was the former site manager of our UCC pre-pandemic. In the Fall of 2019, she stepped into a new role of the Patient Experience Project Manager which she was very excited about. During the start and height of Covid-19, Dianne again took over the management of our Urgent Care Centers while working with reduced staff during a global pandemic.”
“Dianne took on additional responsibilities and has demonstrated a tremendous work ethic, attitude, and leadership during one of the most stressful and crazy years we have ever seen.”

“As a new employee, Joy was very welcoming and took the time (and patience) to answer any questions that I had regarding my new role. She was always available to answer my questions, to help me understand a new computer system and the many ways to navigate it. She didn’t just tell me how to do something, she explained the reason behind why I was doing things a certain way, this made things easier for me to learn.”
“I would listen to her talk to her patients and she exhibited the same patience, she would explain things so that they were able to understand, she would break it down to the simplest level and then ask them if they understood. She is an excellent Nurse, Teacher, co-worker and Friend. She personifies Compass Cares!”
This award is voted on by our patients who shared their stories and how their provider or office impacted their health in a profound way, creating an “Exceptional Experience”. This year, we received over 400 nominations in this category!
“All of the UCC staff have worked endlessly at providing care to Covid patients at a time when no one else would. They stepped up and learned new workflows, wore PPE daily, and took hundreds of calls each day from overwhelmed patients. They all worked physically and mentally exhausting days and then had to go home and also care for their family’s needs as well. At a time where they needed the most support, they were isolated from high-risk family members or friends who were unable to see due to them working with Covid patients. The UCC team worked lean which meant many were working 6 days a week for several months. I admire all of those that stuck it out through this pandemic and continue to do all they can. The strength and endurance of this team is truly impressive.”
“I’ve always gone to Compass Medical Urgent Care and have great care.
I have been so thankful to the urgent care staff over the pandemic as we have utilized their services on multiple occasions throughout this period. Our family was all diagnosed with Covid at one point and the urgent care staff were very helpful and very caring in all of our visits throughout that time. Each staff person we interacted with was very professional and showed my children and I kindness throughout our visits. Scheduling appointments was very easy and safety precautions were utilized each time.”
“The Covid pandemic has presented many challenges to us all. These challenges have been multiplied many times over for those who are in health care. My visit to the urgent care was handled in a professional and careful way. The person on the phone right through to the provider caring for me was all exceptional.”

“I am a patient of Dr. Bloom. In 2019 Dr. Bloom sent me in for a lung X-Ray and the radiologist missed the lung cancer in my right lung but Dr. Bloom caught it and worked extremely hard trying to get a thoracic surgeon to look at the X-Ray as well. Finally, what Dr. Bloom saw others were seeing as well and I was scheduled for surgery at Brigham and Women’s for July 31, 2020. All the cancer was removed and I was very lucky. Dr. Bloom saved my life and I am very grateful to have had him as my doctor. He deserves to be honored in every way, shape, and form. He always listens to your concerns and does his very best to help you. Thank You Dr. Bloom! “
“I am always met with exceptionally friendly and professional staff. Dr. Bloom and his staff make receiving needed care pleasant. I am met with smiling faces in person or with cheerful voices on the phone. I never have to worry about my medical needs being met. From scheduling my appointment to having my appointment, follow-up, to making sure insurance information and documentation are met for my medical supply company and pharmacy. Many times insurance needs extra information to acquire much-needed medical supplies for ventilator use. Dr.Bloom and his staff are exceptionally prompt in providing that information. “
“I am not a fan of going to the doctor, I have always felt like I wasn’t being taken seriously until I started seeing Rebecca. Rebecca takes the time to listen and it’s obvious that she’s listening – and that she cares. She takes the time to return calls and her telehealth visits feel like you’re getting the same level of care as you would for an in-person visit. She takes the time to get to know you. And she has a great sense of humor.”
“Every time I see Rebecca she is friendly, compassionate, and honestly cares. I never feel like a stranger. She knows my name & my issues. She amazes me with her insight and knowledge. If anyone is deserving of this award, it is Rebecca Amaral.”
